Monolito che sputa

This is the work that started the Budini Rossi e Madri Azzurre series. It was originally meant to be just a dynamic image, with an oddly shaped volcano erupting a bloody plasma. But when it came to defining the jet, I found myself up against the limits of the panel. Making a virtue of necessity, I brought the physicality of the canvas into the composition, letting the magma drip down the walls... and the rest is history.
