Poppart

Poppart is a series I care deeply about, as it addresses a subject of great historical, psychological and aesthetic interest — and personal interest too. Thanks to my partner's physical grace, I created these works to pay tribute to two of the greatest strengths of feminine allure: large breasts.

So, camera in hand, we began the initial shoots. Together we conceived the poses and framings, adding to the composition two silicone breast simulacra — squeeze toys now repurposed as glasses-holders.

After the enjoyable pre-production session, I devoted myself to the usual digital manipulations, remounting and accentuating the images in various styles. The flesh-and-plastic play, truth and fiction, is pushed to an extreme in the final results, where opposing dimensions and a forced use of colour and black-and-white highlight the conflict between appearance and existence.
